MUKAH, March 23 (Bernama) -- Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri today dismissed the opposition's claims that the government only planned rural development projects for the election, to fish votes for Barisan Nasional(BN).
"The accusations that the government's project plans during the election were mere promises is deceptive because the government will definitely implement what it had pledged," she said at a leader-people session at Kampung Tutus Hilir, a Melanau village here Sunday.
She acknowledged the delays in implementing certain projects and stressed they were not intentional.
"The delays may be due to certain factors, such as the need for elaborate planning and calculation of the allocation to avoid impediments during the project implementation," she said, urging voters to ensure a major victory for the BN in the Balingian by-election on March 29.
BN is pitting former Dalat district officer Yussibnosh Balo, 48, against PKR's Abdul Jalil Bujang, 55, a businessman.
